7th and 8th Grade BandHere are some details on the Mapleleaf Parade In this Saturday
1. Students should be dropped off a little before 6:45 so they can change into uniform and load the bus by 7am. We will depart for Carthage at 7:15am.
2. The parade will begin on the square in Carthage and follow Grant Street and Grand Avenue. At Centennial Avenue we will turn east and finish the parade at Carthage Middle School.
3. Please watch the temperature forecasts for Saturday. Currently the low for Saturday is 69 degrees and the high is 81 degrees. A morning parade should hopefully mean it is cooler, but weather can change. If we are looking at hotter weather, the need for water increases. If any parents are willing to help by donating additional bottles of water, please contact Mr. Raffurty by Friday. Please also have your students eat breakfast before hand and drink plenty of fluids the morning and night before.
4. The bus will be parked at Carthage Middle School. If you wish to check your student out, you must do so there at the bus. Only a legal guardian of the student may check them out. If another adult is checking out your student, you must receive approval from a North Middle School administrator and have a note signed by one of them at check out to verify they are picking up the student. Students checking out at the end of the parade must bring along their own garment bag so they can return their u inform to School on Monday. Parents, please bring a change of clothes for your student so they do not have to walk around the rest of the day wearing a uniform. There will be limited space on the bus, so students will only be bringing their uniform and instrument.
5. Students that are not checked will return to North Middle School immediately after the parade. Parents will need to pick up students at North by 10:45. All students will need to hang up uniforms and put away equipment before they are dismissed.
6. There is a possibility the bus will be delayed by the high amount of traffic in Carthage. Please follow the Joplin North Band Facebook page for real time updates.
